Blindmaster + Corradi = Stylish Italian Design for Australia

I wanted to tell you about an exciting new installation of the stylish Corradi retractable roof system we recently completed.  We first met these customers at the Grand Designs show in 2012.  They had travelled from the “leafy North Shore” to seek out a suitable solution to enhance the comfort and functionality of the outdoor entertaining area at the back of their home.

When Blindmaster Consultant Troy Breglec visited the clients he found beautiful bi-fold doors opening onto the paved dining area adjacent to the pool and spa. This is where the family likes to hang out on the weekend and entertain friends.  The back yard entertainment area had everything they needed – except protection from the elements.   They were looking for a solution that would provide cool shade and UV protection from the sun as well as shelter from the rain.  A traditional roof structure was rejected as they wanted something less permanent that could be retracted in winter to make the most of their north facing aspect on sunny days.

Troy suggested the Italian designed and manufactured Corradi Iridium retractable roof system with a retractable gutter and remote control operation.  The Corradi retractable roof system gives all the benefits of a fully watertight roof when extended and also retracts back out of sight to enjoy a sunny aspect when desired.  To complement the home’s features and clean colour palette a white frame finish and white Eclissi plus PVC fabric was chosen.

To further protect the area Troy suggested two Ermetika straight drop zip track awnings, one on each side in a screen material that maintains airflow and outdoor views whilst screening out UV rays.  The Ermetikas also help reduce heat load from morning eastern glare and the harsh afternoon western sun.
