The Lantern Club

Project Details

Markilux 869 ZIP & 8800 ZIP straight drop awnings were specified on this project by Sandy Strazds of Graphite Architects. Sandy worked with Troy Breglec from Blindmaster during the specification stage to indentify the most suitable product for the application.

The Lantern Club at Roselands NSW required wind protection and heat retention for their undercover outdoor seating area. The project requriements were to provide a more sheltered, deliniated area to be used for functions whilst maintaining visibilty and the ability to easily retract the awnings when not in use.

Ben DeBono of Mingara Leisure Group managed the project and carried out site preparation in readiness for Blindmaster to install the Markilux awnings. The end result was a beautifully integrated and discrete installation where the Markilux awnings are barely noticeable on the existing structural steel elements of the site. The custom Dupont RAL powdercoat selection and Transolair semi-transparent fabric in black matched the site perfectly. The ZIP gap free side channel feature of the awnings provide wind tolerance  and a Somfy wind sensor monitors the awnings constantly in case of an extreme weather event.
